New Web Blog (Discussion Forum / Guest Book)

In light of the reluctant removal from the website (http://www.rafmountainrescue.com) of both the Guestbook and Readers Forum due to the ever increasing amount of profane and unwelcome spam, I've decided that an alternative would be to add a Web Blog to the site which would serve much the same purpose.

If you have a preference as to whether you think this would be a welcome addition to the site please let me know.

Invitations have been sent out to those of whom I believe might have an interest in being an author to the Blog. If you've received an invitation please feel free to either accept or decline as you see fit. Thanks for listening (or should that be reading?)

This is a good initiative, Karl. Let's hope the website members use it innovatively. Tom

Great Website Karl

Came across wreckage of Blackburn Botha L6202 at the weekend in the Carneddau Range of mountains in North Wales. Found your website invaluable and thought provoking with regard to the men who lost their lives in the 1943 crash. We were crossing Afon Goch and saw a 9 cylinder engine amongst the rocks below Lywtmor and assume it's the other engine from the crash - the pictures I've seen show the other one wedged between rocks higher up on the slopes of Lywtmor. Keep up the good work

Or let's simply hope that they use it and they will only do say if we communicate the facts to them. Is there no chance of returning to a standard Guestbook?

Guestbook? I would love for us to go back to a standard Guestbook, but there are computer programs out there that Spammers use to identify Guestbooks and fill them up with either profane comments or adverts for drugs etc. Until I can find a Guestbook which uses a CAPTCHA system (one of those boxes where the user inputs usually a series of letters or a word which has been deformed so a comuter can't read the text) I would prefer us (the website) not to be open to attack from spammers.

I wasnt sure how to post a new blog, so I've added it here. Spoke to a few of the troops who were at Heavies leaving doo/KMRT Re-union and wondered if there were any party piccies available to post on the site. I'm stuck out in Ajman (up the coast from Dubai)and wasnt able to get to the assembly of greatness. I'm sure others who would have wanted to be there, would be grateful to see some of the characters. Thanks
